About Gallowhill Camping and Caravan Park
Gallowhill Camping and Caravan Park sits just off the M90 near Kinross, around 15 miles inland from Aberdour and within easy reach of Loch Leven and its 13-mile lakeside trail. The site is the nearest genuine touring and tent park to Aberdour outside the immediate coastal strip, and its family-run, bring-your-own-kit approach makes it a straightforward, no-frills base for caravanners and tent campers touring Fife and Loch Leven.
The park offers around 80 pitches on grass, taking caravans, motorhomes, tents and roof tents, with mains electric hook-up available on most pitches. A toilet block houses coin-operated showers, and a laundry room, drying facilities and a campers' bothy with a kettle, microwave and power sockets give a basic but well-kept range of amenities. A play area with swings, a see-saw, a wobble board, a sand pit and a football area covers younger visitors, and a private dog walk is available for those touring with pets. There is no shop, swimming pool or Wi-Fi on site.
Campfires are allowed on site, a rarity for parks in this part of Scotland, and the park's position close to Loch Leven gives immediate access to fishing, walking and cycling on the loch's lakeside trail, along with a Park & Ride service from Kinross into Edinburgh and Perth. It makes a quiet, simple base for anyone happy to drive the fifteen miles or so into Aberdour and the Fife coast for a day at the beach.
