About Nanteos Mansion
Nanteos Mansion is a Grade I listed Georgian country house built in 1739, standing in its own woodland and parkland a couple of miles south-east of Aberystwyth. The Powell family lived here until 1951, and the mansion has since been carefully restored to something close to its original grandeur, with sweeping staircases, wood panelling and high ceilings throughout the public rooms.
The 22 en-suite bedrooms are individually decorated in keeping with the house's Georgian origins, ranging from cosy doubles to grander rooms overlooking the gardens. Public rooms include a restaurant serving modern Welsh dishes built around local produce, along with lounges and a bar for guests staying on after dinner.
The grounds make Nanteos a popular wedding venue, and non-residents are welcome for dinner as well as overnight guests. Free parking on site and a genuinely rural setting make it an easy option for anyone with a car who wants a quiet base a short drive from the Aberystwyth seafront.
