Slindon Camping and Caravanning Club Site

West Sussex

Orchard-set Club site on the edge of Slindon Forest, four miles from Arundel

About Slindon Camping and Caravanning Club Site

Slindon Camping and Caravanning Club Site occupies a former orchard on the edge of Slindon Forest, within the South Downs National Park and around four miles from Arundel along quiet lanes through the National Trust's Slindon Estate. The site takes a quieter, more traditional approach than the area's larger touring parks, with pitches for tents, touring caravans and motorhomes spread beneath mature trees and views opening out across the coastal plain of West Sussex towards the sea.

As a Camping and Caravanning Club site, facilities are kept to a high but unfussy standard: electric hook-up and a shower and toilet block are provided, along with a small on-site shop for essentials, and non-members are welcome to book a pitch and can join the club on arrival if they choose. The site does not run to a swimming pool or a dedicated children's playground, in keeping with its position as a smaller, more peaceful alternative to family-oriented holiday parks, and it tends to suit couples and walkers more than large family groups. Dogs are welcome on leads, with a dog walk provided nearby.

The site's position within Slindon Forest puts the South Downs Way and the wooded Slindon Estate paths directly on the doorstep, while Arundel's castle, cathedral and High Street are a short drive away for a day out. Its rural, orchard setting and relatively small scale make it one of the more peaceful options within easy reach of the town.
