Climping, on the coast six miles south of Arundel · Hotel

A medieval-style manor and spa set in thirty acres of parkland leading to the coast at Climping, with thirty-nine rooms spread across the main house and cottages.

About Bailiffscourt Hotel & Spa

Bailiffscourt occupies thirty acres of private parkland at Climping, on the coast a few miles south of Arundel, built up in the 1930s from genuine medieval materials to create a manor house and cluster of cottages that look considerably older than they are. The thirty-nine rooms are spread across the main house and surrounding cottages, several with four-poster beds, roll-top baths or private gardens, and the estate's parkland runs down towards the beach at Climping.

The spa, built in the style of a Sussex barn, has an indoor pool that opens onto a heated outdoor pool and gardens, along with a steam room, sauna, relaxation room and fitness suite, and treatments run through Temple Spa. The restaurant serves seasonal menus built around Sussex produce, and the grounds, with their walled garden and grazing sheep, give the whole property a rural, slightly theatrical character that has made it popular for weddings as well as spa breaks.

Climping's beach is a short walk from the grounds, and Arundel's castle and cathedral are a short drive north, making Bailiffscourt a workable base for combining a coastal spa stay with a day exploring the town.
