Middlemuir Heights Caravan Park

South Ayrshire

A wooded, walled-garden park in Tarbolton village, a short drive from Ayr

About Middlemuir Heights Caravan Park

Middlemuir Heights Caravan Park sits within the old walled grounds of the former Montgomerie Castle estate, in the village of Tarbolton around seven miles from Ayr. The wooded, sheltered setting gives the park a distinctly rural, tucked-away feel compared with the coastal parks nearer town, and it has long been popular with touring caravanners looking for a quieter, village-based alternative within easy reach of both Ayr and the wider Burns country sites around Tarbolton and Mauchline.

The park provides drainage, water and electric hook-up points for touring caravans, along with dedicated tourer storage for those who leave a van on site between visits. On-site facilities include showers, a children's play area and Sam's Bar, a pub on the park itself that serves as a social hub for both touring visitors and static caravan owners, with a separate area for children. The park remains open through most of the year, with limited weekday closures confined to February.

Tarbolton itself has strong Burns associations, including the Bachelors' Club where Robert Burns was a founding member of a local debating society, and the village makes a good, quiet base for exploring the wider Ayrshire countryside between Ayr, Kilmarnock and Mauchline. Dogs are welcome on the park, and the surrounding woodland and farmland offer easy walking directly from the gate.
