About Bakewell Camping and Caravanning Club Site
The Bakewell Camping and Caravanning Club Site lies on Hopping Lane just outside the village of Youlgreave, around five miles from Bakewell itself, and takes a deliberately back-to-basics approach compared with the town's larger holiday parks. Grass and hardstanding pitches are spread across open, sloping countryside with wide views across the Derbyshire Dales, and the site offers a full range of pitch types from simple grass pitches with no services to super hardstanding pitches with electric hook-up, fresh water and waste drainage.
Unusually for a site of this size, there is no permanent toilet or shower block on site, which keeps the character deliberately simple and rural; a chemical toilet point and motorhome service point are provided instead, along with gas cylinder exchange and ice-pack freezing. Club Wi-fi is available across the site, a children's play area gives families somewhere for younger visitors to burn off energy, and dogs are welcome with a designated dog walk provided. The access lane is narrow and some pitches slope, so levelling ramps are worth bringing for caravans and motorhomes.
As a Camping and Caravanning Club site, non-members are welcome to book and can join on arrival if they wish to take advantage of member pricing on future stays. The site's position close to Youlgreave puts it within easy reach of the Limestone Way and the Lathkill and Bradford valleys, with Bakewell itself a short drive away for the Monday market and the town's restaurants.
