The Pilsley Inn

Pilsley, Chatsworth Estate · Inn

A Chatsworth Estate coaching inn in the pretty village of Pilsley, formerly the Devonshire Arms, with thirteen individually designed rooms.

About The Pilsley Inn

The Pilsley Inn, formerly known as the Devonshire Arms at Pilsley, sits on the Chatsworth Estate in one of the Peak District's most photographed villages, a stone terrace of cottages and farm buildings a short walk from Chatsworth House itself. Run by Chatsworth Escapes, the inn has thirteen individually designed bedrooms, each with its own character and en-suite bathroom, spread across rooms described as cosy, comfortable, spacious and farmhouse in style.

Downstairs, the inn serves farm-fresh English breakfasts, pub lunches and fireside dinners, drawing on produce from the wider estate, and functions as a genuine village local as well as a guest house, with regular events through the year. Its position roughly two miles from Chatsworth House, close enough to walk in dry weather, makes it a natural choice for visitors who want to combine a stay with unhurried access to the house, garden and farmyard.

Bakewell itself is a short drive away for shops, the Monday market and the wider choice of restaurants, while the inn's rural setting on the estate gives guests a quieter alternative to staying in the town centre, with walking routes across the estate parkland starting more or less from the front door.
