Ballater Caravan Park

Aberdeenshire

Riverside touring park a five-minute walk from Ballater village

About Ballater Caravan Park

Ballater Caravan Park sits on the banks of the River Dee on Anderson Road, close enough to the village centre that shops, cafes and the old station museum are all a short stroll away. It is the only campsite actually inside Ballater itself, which makes it the obvious choice for visitors who want to explore on foot or by bike rather than relying on a car for every trip.

The park offers hardstanding pitches with electric hook-ups for touring caravans and motorhomes, along with a separate area for tent pitches beside the river. Its position on the old Deeside railway path means the flat, waymarked route towards Cambus o' May and on towards Aboyne is accessible directly from the site, and secure bike storage is available for cyclists tackling the wider Deeside Way.

Because of its central location, guests are within walking distance of Ballater's butchers, delis and farmers' market, and the site works well as a base for day trips west to Balmoral and Lochnagar or east to Glen Tanar and the Dinnet lochs. Booking is handled through the park's own online system and demand is high in summer, so early reservations are recommended for the peak walking season.
