Delamont Country Park Caravan and Camping Site

County Down

Five-star club site on Strangford Lough, around 20 miles from Bangor

About Delamont Country Park Caravan and Camping Site

Delamont Country Park, on the shore of Strangford Lough near Killyleagh, is Northern Ireland's only Camping and Caravanning Club site and carries the club's five-star rating. The park itself spreads across former parkland with mature woodland, a walled garden, a butterfly enclosure and views over the lough's many drumlin islands, all open to campers to explore on foot or by bike.

The touring site offers fully serviced pitches with electric hookup and hard standing alongside grass pitches for tents, plus modern shower and toilet blocks and a dedicated area for awnings. Tents, touring caravans, motorhomes and campervans are all accepted, and the site is run to the Camping and Caravanning Club's usual high standard of upkeep.

Being on the Strangford Lough side of the Ards Peninsula, it sits further from Bangor than the Millisle sites, at around twenty miles and thirty-five minutes' drive, but its combination of parkland, wildlife and lough views makes it worth the extra distance for anyone wanting a quieter, more scenic touring base with Bangor still an easy day trip away. Dogs are welcome and the site operates for most of the year, though it is worth checking exact opening dates in the depths of winter.
