Trawsdir occupies a hillside site just north of Barmouth in Llanaber, within Eryri National Park, and makes the most of its position with wide views out over Cardigan Bay and the Llyn Peninsula from many of its pitches. It is a long-standing, family-run park with a 5-star Visit Wales rating, and it has expanded over the years to offer glamping pods alongside its traditional touring and camping pitches.
The park's own dog walking field, launderette, and on-site shop and reception make it a practical base for a longer stay, while the short drive or walk into Barmouth keeps the beach, harbour and railway station within easy reach for anyone without their own transport for the day. The setting is quieter and greener than a seafront site, with fields and hedgerows giving it a proper countryside feel despite being minutes from the coast.
Trawsdir suits both tents and larger touring outfits, and its position on high ground keeps it sheltered from the worst of the coastal weather while still delivering some of the best sunset views over the bay of any site in the area. As with the other parks close to Barmouth, advance booking for peak summer weeks is advisable given its popularity with returning visitors.
