The Bulkeley Hotel was built in 1832 as a Georgian showpiece, raised to accommodate a visit from Princess Victoria before she became Queen, and it still holds the best position in Beaumaris: directly opposite the beach and pier, and within yards of the castle. Its scale sets it apart from the town's smaller hotels, with 43 rooms including pet-friendly doubles, family club rooms, four-poster rooms and suites looking straight out over the Menai Strait to Snowdonia.

The hotel runs a restaurant and a separate coffee shop, along with a real ale bar and lounge that keep a traditional feel through the busiest summer weekends.
