Malmaison Belfast occupies a former seed warehouse and merchant's office block, its exposed brick, cast-iron columns and dark, tactile interiors typical of the brand's approach to converting characterful old commercial buildings. Rooms lean towards deep colours and statement furniture rather than minimalist styling, with the largest suites retaining original warehouse features such as exposed beams and tall windows.

The hotel's brasserie and Chez Mal bar operate independently of the rooms as a destination in their own right for Belfast diners, and the building's position on Victoria Street puts it right on the edge of the Cathedral Quarter, close enough to walk to its bars and restaurants but a little quieter after dark.

Victoria Square shopping centre is a two-minute walk, and Belfast's Central and Great Victoria Street stations are both within easy walking distance for onward travel.
