Cwmlanerch sits directly beside the River Conwy around a mile from Betws-y-Coed, with several of its tent pitches close enough to the water to fall asleep to the sound of the river. The site is run as a family business alongside a small number of self-catering cottages, and it has a settled, established feel rather than the polish of a large commercial park.
Facilities are centred on a toilet block with free hot showers and a utility room housing a washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer, useful for anyone staying more than a couple of nights. The site takes tents and motorhomes on a first-come basis across its all-weather pitches, though touring caravans are not accepted and there is no electric hook-up for tents, keeping the emphasis on straightforward camping rather than a serviced touring stop. Bags of logs are sold on site for fire pits, and open fires are permitted off the grass in designated spots.
The site is open from March to October and has, in recent seasons, stopped accepting dogs, so anyone travelling with a pet should look to Rynys Farm or one of the other nearby sites instead. Its riverside position and short distance from the village make it a good choice for anyone prioritising a quiet, scenic pitch over extensive facilities, and for walkers wanting to be close enough to Betws-y-Coed to reach its shops and pubs on foot.
