About Woodbatch Camping and Glamping
Are you up for a countryside stay in a wildlife haven? How about stargazing, mountain biking or horse riding, all in the splendid scenery of the Shropshire Hills? Make your way for all this and more to the scenic site of Woodbatch Camping and Glamping.
There are quite a few little touches on this small family-run farm to make stays comfy and easy, from the luxury shower and toilet block with hairdryers, to the campers' kitchen with hot water, fridge freezer, kettle, microwave and toaster, to the most excellent firebowls for guests' use, upcycled from old washing machine drums. And everything's free to use, because Woodbatch Camping and Glamping is just that type of site…
Middlebatch is a 17th-century working farm in a wildlife, birdwatching and walking haven in the Shropshire Hills, five minutes' drive from the friendly market town of Bishop's Castle, near Offa's Dyke Path, and in a prime and peaceful locale for hiking, mountain biking and horse riding. There's no light pollution in these parts, so the area is a hit with stargazers too.
Run expertly by Mary, the site also has a large disabled-friendly and family shower room as well as recycling facilities and a full breakfast takeaway menu.

What visitors say
I don't really want to post a review so people find out about this gem of a site! A stunning location, particularly where we pitched at the top of the 2nd field. The amenities were excellent and the local walks straight from the farmyard were idyllic. Mary, the host, was lovely and very welcoming, and made the best cooked breakfast for us. The only, very minor niggle was that the shower cubicle lights are controlled by motion sensor but it can't sense when youre in the shower with the curtain closed and it went pitch black. Luckily my partner experienced this first so I knew to leave the curtain open a bit.

Booked a stay at a different campsite which we were not happy with, so decided to go somewhere else. We found this on Google maps and gave them a call at around 7:30pm, they were more than happy to have us arrive with only 30 minutes notice. Everyone was very friendly and helpful! (We even found a Chinese takeaway on route, about 10 minutes away) When we arrived we were shown the campsite before we paid ect to make sure we were happy. The site was Very clean, tidy and quiet. Its also dog friendly. customer service was amazing, and lovely people to chat to. fire pits are free to use and logs are available for just £5 a bag. Breakfasts are available in the morning at a good price and are absolutely delicious! all in all amazing place 10 out of 10. We can't wait to come back!

We stayed here over spring half term p(and again Aug 25), and it was as wonderful as ever. The view makes this a perfect campsite all by itself. You can sit and watch the sun and cloud shadows pass over the rolling hills, surrounded by gentle birdsong and not much else. The site is spacious, with 10 pitches in a large field, and each comes with it's own picnic table and firepit. The picnic table makes life sooo much easier. There are new showers and toilets. The shower was hot and refreshing with good pressure, and everything was clean and well tender. There are two fridges and freezers, so can keep much/all of your food there, plus a kettle and toaster. The owners are friendly and helpful. This site has put highest recommendation. It's everything you wanted, and all you didn't know you needed. Don't prevaricate, just book in. :)
