Beach Lodge is a small, family-run bed and breakfast in Southbourne, a quieter stretch of Bournemouth's seafront a few miles east of the pier and town centre. Its position gives several rooms genuine sea views without the scale, or the price, of the larger clifftop hotels closer to the centre.

Rooms are simply but comfortably furnished, with an emphasis on a warm welcome and a proper cooked breakfast rather than extensive on-site facilities, in keeping with the property's small size. The Southbourne setting means a quieter night's sleep than the busier East Cliff hotels, while still putting the beach directly across the road.

Southbourne itself has developed a modest independent café and shop scene along its own stretch of seafront and Southbourne Grove, giving guests somewhere to eat without needing to travel into central Bournemouth every time.

It suits couples and solo travellers who want a small, personally run B&B with sea views on a quieter part of the coast, and who do not mind a short bus ride or drive into central Bournemouth for its wider choice of restaurants and attractions.
