The Lygon Arms has stood on Broadway's High Street for over six hundred years, first recorded in the parish register in 1532 and used as a meeting point by both sides during the Civil War, with Oliver Cromwell said to have stayed here before the Battle of Worcester. That depth of history is still visible in the beamed ceilings, stone fireplaces and mullioned windows of the Main House, even though the hotel has been thoroughly modernised behind the period features.

Bedrooms are spread across the Main House, a Courtyard wing, an Annex and a row of Cottages, giving a wide range of characters from cosy low-beamed rooms to more contemporary courtyard suites. The Lygon Spa has a pool, hot tub, steam room and gym, while food is split between the Grill by James Martin for a more formal dinner and the Tavern for relaxed, all-day dining, with an afternoon tea service in between.

The hotel's three acres of grounds include lawns, flower gardens and a croquet lawn set back from the High Street, giving a genuine sense of space that belies the central village location. Dogs are welcomed throughout much of the hotel, and its position directly on the High Street means every shop, gallery and pub in the village is within a short walk.
