Beautiful location, the trail is through the youth hostel grounds and a short walk along a quiet country road. Clean facilities, very busy with events. Lovely food, friendly and welcoming. Basic field camping with raised fire pits available to hire A working farm so dogs are welcome on a lead. We really enjoyed our stay. It would be nice to have a small fenced area to let the dogs have a run, fetch a ball. I would recommend if you are on a budget taking the basics with you. It can be breezy on the top of the hill so peg things down really well and take a kite but the view is outstanding of the countryside. Also make sure you tie your rubbish bags so that it doesn’t blow all over. We did a litter pick early morning on our dog walk around the camping field as it would be dangerous for the farm animals if they ingested the rubbish.

Really great place to camp. The toilets are clean, the showers take £1 for 4 mins and again are clean. The team there are so good and the service from checking in, to dinner, to breakfast is excellent. Large camping area so you can choose to camp either near to or a distance from the facilities. Great cafe, great bar and great food. Highly recommend 👌 oh, and a perfect location for walking

What a beautiful site, everything you need. The bar and cafe was beautiful inside. The food is out of this world. It has a shop inside for all your forgotten bits. The barn dance was great. On a Sunday you get the best carvery I have eaten in a very long time. This is the best campsite I have been to run by a very welcoming family. It has been a laugh a minute since we arrived friday. 100% recommend to anyone looking to camp in the area. We are coming back again very soon. Thanks The wood man ;)

We came here for an overnight break on our motorbikes. The staff were very helpful. I would say the entrance is a little steep and gravelly for the less experienced rider (my husband rode first and I followed). We chose the top site to camp and the views were beautiful. Plenty of toilets and pay to use showers. Also the cowshed has some lovely options for drinks and food. And the shop is great for any forgotten necessities. I don't usually camp on a bank holiday so the toilets did run out of loo roll and I'm not used to the crowds but we really enjoyed our stay. Xxx
