Eleven-acre club site on Grin Low, on the doorstep of Poole's Cavern

About Buxton Camping and Caravanning Club Site

The Buxton Camping and Caravanning Club Site occupies eleven acres on Grin Low Road at Ladmanlow, on the wooded hillside immediately above Buxton and within walking distance of Poole's Cavern and Solomon's Temple. It is one of the closest sites to the town centre that still feels properly rural, surrounded by Buxton Country Park's beech woodland and old lime kiln workings.

The site takes tents, touring caravans, motorhomes and campervans, with a mix of hardstanding and grass pitches and electric hookup available throughout. A centrally located, heated toilet block provides free showers and accessible facilities, and there is a drying room, a play area and play frame for children, and a dog wash point. Dogs are welcome throughout the site, and gas, electric and charcoal barbecues are permitted on pitches.

Its position makes it particularly good for walkers, sitting right at the start of routes up to Solomon's Temple and into the wider Country Park, while still being a fifteen-minute walk down into Buxton for the Opera House, restaurants and the market. Non-members can generally book, though joining the Camping and Caravanning Club brings a discount on pitch fees, and the elevated, exposed position is worth bearing in mind for early or late-season visits when weather on the tops turns quickly.
