Grantown-on-Spey Caravan Park

Moray

Immaculate Club-affiliated park on the edge of a Georgian Speyside town

About Grantown-on-Spey Caravan Park

Grantown-on-Spey Caravan Park sits on the northern edge of the Cairngorms National Park, a few minutes' walk from the granite high street of one of Scotland's best-preserved Georgian planned towns. It is a Caravan and Motorhome Club affiliated site with a reputation for being kept in genuinely immaculate order, and the setting is quiet parkland with the Spey and its woodland walks close by.

Pitches come in two grades. Standard pitches are grass or hardstanding with ten-amp electric hook-up, from around nineteen pounds a night, while super pitches are noticeably more spacious and add water and waste connections plus a sixteen-amp supply, from around twenty-four pounds. Tents are welcome alongside tourers and motorhomes. For anyone who would rather not pitch at all, the park also has heated wigwams from about forty-five pounds, en-suite Lapwing pods, and Mountain View lodges at the top of the range.

Facilities centre on a heated toilet and shower block that is regularly singled out in reviews, with laundry provision and wi-fi across the park. Dogs are welcome, with one permitted per wigwam. The location is the real selling point: an eighteen-hole golf course is on the doorstep, the Speyside Way and the Anagach Woods start within walking distance, and the town's bakers, butchers and cafes mean you need not drive anywhere for supplies. Aviemore and the ski road are about twenty-five minutes south, and the Speyside distilleries are an easy run north-east. Loch Garten, Abernethy Forest and the ospreys are twenty minutes away, and the Cairngorm plateau is close enough for a full hill day without a long drive at either end of it.
