About Llandow Touring Caravan Park
Established in 1991 and still run by the same family, Llandow occupies open Vale of Glamorgan farmland between Cowbridge and the coast. It is a large site — around 175 pitches, of which a substantial number are taken by seasonal tourers — divided into two areas so that short-stay visitors are not mixed in with the long-term residents. Cardiff is about half an hour away by car via the A48, Cowbridge and its independent shops around ten minutes, and the beaches at Llantwit Major and Southerndown roughly a quarter of an hour.
Facilities are the park's strong suit. There are two toilet and shower blocks kept to a high standard, two laundry rooms, fast wi-fi across the site and an on-site shop and reception open through the day. Electric hook-ups are provided on the touring pitches, the ground is level and well drained, and there is a play park for children in a safe position away from the access roads. The park holds a silver David Bellamy Conservation Award, which reflects the hedgerows and wildlife margins that have been kept around the fields.
Dogs are welcome and there is quiet lane walking straight from the gate. The season runs from roughly February to November rather than year-round, so confirm dates if you are planning an early spring or late autumn trip. Prices start at a little over twenty pounds a night for a touring pitch. It suits caravanners and motorhome owners best, though camping is accommodated; those wanting a lively holiday-park atmosphere with bars and entertainment should look elsewhere, as this is a straightforward, well-kept touring site.
