The Marine sits on the seafront at Ballycastle, looking straight out over the beach towards Fair Head and Rathlin Island. It is the largest hotel at this end of the Causeway Coast, with 51 rooms and suites including sea-view and family options, and a number of dog-friendly rooms, which is less common here than you might expect.

Marconi's Bar and Bistro takes its name from the Marconi experiments conducted between Ballycastle and Rathlin, and serves a la carte dinner, afternoon tea and a Sunday carvery, open seven days from midday. The hotel also runs substantial event and wedding facilities, which means it can be busy at weekends but also keeps standards and staffing higher than a hotel of this size would otherwise sustain.

Ballycastle itself is a working town rather than a resort, and it makes an excellent and comparatively affordable base. The Rathlin Island ferry leaves from the harbour a few minutes' walk away, Carrick-a-Rede and Ballintoy are fifteen minutes west along the coast road, and the Glens of Antrim and the Torr Head scenic route open up to the south and east. The Ould Lammas Fair takes over the town at the end of August, when rooms here go months in advance.
