Wolford Wood is a simple, low-key tent site set within a hundred acres of woodland just outside Moreton-in-Marsh, around seven miles from Chipping Campden. Rather than manicured pitches and hookups, it offers a large open camping meadow beside mature woodland, aimed at campers who want a genuinely rustic stay with fire pits, outdoor cooking and long woodland walks rather than a shop and swimming pool.
Facilities are kept deliberately basic: outdoor hot showers, clean portable toilets and washing-up points are provided, but there is no electric hookup, wifi or shop on site, so campers should arrive prepared and stock up in Moreton-in-Marsh or Chipping Campden beforehand. A handful of simple cabins and larger group shelters supplement the tent pitches for those who want a roof without a full glamping set-up, and open fires are actively encouraged as part of the site's back-to-nature approach.
Dogs are welcome throughout, reflecting the owners' own dogs on site, and the woodland setting makes this a popular choice for wedding parties and small group gatherings as well as individual campers. The site operates year-round, including over Christmas and New Year, which is unusual for a woodland tent site and makes it a genuine option for an off-season visit to the northern Cotswolds when many local campsites have closed for the winter.
