Bodysgallen Hall and Spa

Country estate between Conwy and Llandudno · Hotel

A Grade I listed 17th-century hall on 200 acres of parkland with views to Conwy Castle and Snowdonia, run by Historic House Hotels.

About Bodysgallen Hall and Spa

Bodysgallen Hall sits on rising ground between Conwy and Llandudno, a 17th-century hall built around a medieval watchtower and set within 200 acres of parkland, woodland and formal gardens, including a rare 17th-century knot garden. The National Trust-affiliated Historic House Hotels group has run it as a country house hotel for decades, and the interiors keep the panelled rooms, open fires and antique furniture of a genuine historic house rather than a themed reproduction.

Bedrooms are split between the main hall and a group of cottage suites in the grounds, individually decorated and generally larger than a standard hotel room, with several suites having their own sitting areas. The hotel's spa, housed separately in the grounds, includes an indoor pool, and the walled garden and wider parkland give guests grounds to explore that go well beyond a typical hotel garden.

Its position, a couple of miles outside Conwy on the Llandudno road, means a short drive rather than a walk to the town's castle and walls, but the views from the grounds towards both the castle and the mountains of Snowdonia are part of the appeal, and it suits visitors prioritising a country house stay with spa facilities over walking-distance convenience to the town itself.
