Hoburne Cotswold

Gloucestershire

Lakeside holiday park in the Cotswold Water Park with indoor and outdoor pools

About Hoburne Cotswold

Hoburne Cotswold is a large holiday park at South Cerney, near Cirencester, set within the Cotswold Water Park, a network of former gravel pits that has been turned into more than 150 lakes. The setting is completely different from the rest of the region: flat, watery and green rather than high and stony, which makes it the easiest place in the Cotswolds for cycling with children and the obvious choice if you want swimming and watersports on the doorstep.

The park is set up as a resort rather than a simple campsite. There are heated indoor and outdoor pools, a bar and restaurant, a playground and indoor play area, a kids' pool, gardens and barbecue provision. Accommodation runs from timber lodges and static caravans, many with lakeside views, through to touring and camping pitches with hook-ups and access to shower blocks. The on-site fishing is well regarded, and boats and watersports are available on the neighbouring lakes.

Cirencester is around ten minutes away for a proper town with a Roman museum and twice-weekly markets, and Kemble station, with trains to London Paddington in about an hour and a quarter, is a similar distance. Tetbury, Malmesbury and the southern Cotswold villages are all within half an hour. Touring pitches start from roughly 25 pounds a night in the shoulder season, with lodges and caravans priced considerably higher and peak summer weeks the most expensive of the year. It is busy and family-focused rather than quiet, so those looking for a peaceful field should look elsewhere in the region.
