Willersey Hill, Broadway · Hotel
A converted 17th-century farmhouse above Broadway on the Farncombe Estate, with an award-winning spa, infinity pool and three restaurants.
About Dormy House Hotel & Spa
Dormy House stands on the escarpment above Broadway, part of the 500-acre Farncombe Estate on Willersey Hill. It began as a 17th-century farmhouse and the original stone building still forms the core of the hotel, with oak panelling, flagstones and open log fires. Later extensions have been done in a Scandinavian-influenced style, so the interiors move between traditional and contemporary as you walk through.
There are 39 en-suite bedrooms across five room styles, including six suites. Rooms vary considerably: some in the old farmhouse have beams and sloping ceilings, while the newer garden rooms are bigger and brighter, several with their own terraces. Beds are large, bathrooms have underfloor heating and walk-in showers, and the top suites have freestanding baths and separate sitting areas.
The House Spa is the main draw and has won a string of industry awards. It has an infinity pool, a hydrotherapy pool, a Scandinavian-style thermal suite with saunas and steam rooms, an outdoor hot tub and a gym. Food is served across three areas: the Garden Room for the main menu, the Potting Shed for a relaxed all-day offering, and a spa cafe. The estate has walking trails linking to the Cotswold Way.
The hotel suits couples and small groups on a spa break, and it takes wellness seriously enough that the treatment schedule is worth booking well ahead. Children are welcome in most rooms but parts of the spa are adults-only, so families should check before booking. The hilltop position gives long views west over the Vale of Evesham, and Broadway village is a five-minute drive down the hill.
