Guiting Guest House occupies a 17th-century Cotswold farmhouse in Guiting Power, a small village of honey-coloured stone cottages in the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty between Winchcombe and Stow-on-the-Wold. The village has a green, two pubs and a village shop, and very little traffic, which is much of the appeal. The house is a five-minute walk from the centre.

The building retains its original character, with flagstone floors, exposed beams, stone fireplaces and window seats. Bedrooms are individually furnished and en-suite, several with four-poster or half-tester beds. This is a small, owner-run operation rather than a hotel, so there is no bar, restaurant or reception desk, and the number of rooms is limited. The house is adults-only, non-smoking and does not accept pets.

Breakfast is the centrepiece and is cooked to order from a varied menu using local ingredients, with gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options available on request. The kitchen holds a food hygiene rating of five out of five. Guests have use of a sitting room and garden, and there is off-road parking. The owners are a useful source of advice on local walks and pub recommendations.

It suits walkers and cyclists in particular, being well placed for the Windrush Way, the Warden's Way and the wider network of paths across the high wolds. Sudeley Castle, Hailes Abbey and the Cotswold Farm Park are all nearby, and Cheltenham is about 20 minutes by car, which makes the house a popular choice during race week. Bourton-on-the-Water and Stow-on-the-Wold are both within ten miles.
