Peterstone Court is a Georgian country house set in grounds running down to the River Usk at Llanhamlach, a few miles west of Crickhowell on the road towards Brecon. Built on the site of an earlier house within a former castle estate, it has operated as a hotel since the nineteenth century and today combines eight main house bedrooms with four duplex stable rooms, along with a spa and leisure facilities that set it apart from the more traditional coaching inns closer to Crickhowell itself.

The restaurant makes a point of sourcing from the surrounding farms and its own kitchen garden where possible, with menus that change through the seasons, and the grounds, including gardens and an arboretum, give guests space to walk without leaving the property. It suits visitors wanting a country house pace, with a spa to fall back on if the weather closes in on the surrounding hills.

Being a short drive rather than a walk from Crickhowell's high street, a car is more or less essential, but the location puts guests equally close to Brecon and the wider National Park, making it a sensible base for those splitting their time between the two towns.
