Dart Marina Hotel
Sandquay, on the riverside marina · Hotel
A riverside hotel on the Dart estuary with a spa, a Rosette restaurant and rooms looking straight over the water to Kingswear.
About Dart Marina Hotel
Dart Marina occupies one of the best positions in Dartmouth, built directly onto the bank of the River Dart at Sandquay with almost every room facing the water and the wooded hillside of Kingswear opposite. The hotel has grown up alongside the working marina it overlooks, and its restaurant and bar terraces make the most of that outlook, particularly on summer evenings when the estuary fills with yachts and passing ferries.
Inside, the hotel favours a contemporary, understated style over heavy period decoration, with light-filled rooms and suites, many with private balconies or terraces. The on-site Gaia Spa includes an indoor pool, steam room and treatment rooms, giving guests a reason to stay put on a wet Devon afternoon, while the Zephyr Bar and Bistro serves a menu built around Devon produce and local seafood that has picked up an AA Rosette for its cooking.
It is a five to ten minute walk along the water into the centre of Dartmouth, making the hotel a genuine base for exploring the town on foot as well as a destination in its own right, and its own pontoon and boat trips give guests a direct way onto the river itself.
