About Glendaruel Caravan Park
Glendaruel Caravan Park occupies 22 acres of mature woodland in the Glendaruel valley, on the Cowal Peninsula around 15 miles from Dunoon towards the Kyles of Bute. It is a long-established, award-winning park taking touring caravans, motorhomes, campervans and tents, alongside camping pods and bothies for those without their own kit, and its size and setting give it a genuinely rural, wildlife-rich feel, with red squirrels regularly seen around the pitches.
Pitches include electric hardstanding and grass options, and the park runs a licensed on-site shop, known locally as The Sutlery, along with laundry facilities and wifi across the site, making it more self-contained than some of the smaller sites closer to Dunoon. A children's play area caters for families, and the surrounding forestry tracks and quiet lanes give walkers and cyclists plenty of routes straight from the gate.
The park operates a seasonal opening from spring to late autumn and is popular enough to warrant booking ahead in summer. Its position, a scenic 40-minute drive from Dunoon along the shore of Loch Riddon and the Kyles of Bute, makes it better suited to a longer stay exploring the wider Cowal Peninsula than a quick overnight stop, though its woodland setting is reward enough on its own.
