New fully serviced touring pitches at Benmore, minutes from Dunoon
About The Secret Glen
The Secret Glen is a newly developed touring campsite at Benmore, a few miles north of Dunoon on the road towards Loch Eck and the Argyll Forest Park. It was built from scratch with modern touring in mind, offering fully serviced, hardstanding pitches with individual electric hookups rather than the mixed grass-and-gravel layouts found at many older Argyll sites.
The location puts guests within easy reach of some of Cowal's best-known walking, including Puck's Glen and Benmore Botanic Garden, both a short drive or cycle away, as well as the longer routes into the Argyll Forest Park around Loch Eck. Modern shower and toilet facilities, an outdoor washing-up area and a dedicated barbecue space are provided, and the site is set up for both short stopovers and longer stays.
Dogs are welcome throughout the site, reflecting its appeal to walkers exploring the surrounding hills, and wifi is available for those who need to stay connected. There is no shop or playground on site, so guests typically stock up in Dunoon before heading out, a journey of only ten minutes or so by car. The combination of a brand-new build and a genuinely rural setting makes it one of the more comfortable, low-fuss bases for exploring the Cowal Peninsula.
