Durham Grange is a Caravan and Motorhome Club site at Belmont, on the eastern edge of Durham close to the A1(M), making it an easy stop for anyone touring the North East by caravan or motorhome. Despite the proximity to the motorway, the 74 pitches are set on open, level ground away from the road noise, with most offering hardstanding and electric hook-up.
The central facilities block is heated and modern, with free hot showers, private cubicles, a larger family shower room, a laundry and a food preparation area, along with an accessible unit reached by key entry. A small shop in reception stocks essentials and can order in bread, milk and newspapers, and there is a children's play park, a motorhome service point and a dedicated dog walk area. Wi-Fi is available on site for a charge.
Durham city centre is around three miles away, close enough for a short drive in to see the cathedral and castle, though there is no direct footpath or regular bus service from the site itself, so a car is needed to make the most of it. The site accepts tents in a limited number of pitches as well as touring caravans and motorhomes, and its facilities suit families as well as couples.
