Drummohr Camping and Glamping Site

East Lothian

Sheltered East Lothian site with pods and frequent buses into the city

About Drummohr Camping and Glamping Site

Drummohr lies near Musselburgh in East Lothian, about seven miles east of central Edinburgh and a short distance from the Firth of Forth coast. The setting is a sheltered, well-planted site in what were once estate grounds, with mature hedging breaking up the pitches and cutting the wind that can whip in off the sea. It is quieter than the city-side parks while still being genuinely close to Edinburgh.

Transport is the site's strongest card for visitors without a car. The local bus into Edinburgh runs every ten minutes during the day, every twenty in the evening and hourly overnight, taking around forty minutes into the centre. By car the same trip is roughly twenty-five minutes outside peak times, and Musselburgh station gives quick rail access to Waverley. East Lothian's beaches, golf links and the coastal path at Prestonpans are all within a few minutes.

Pitches cover grass and hardstanding, with electric hook-ups available, and the site takes tents, caravans and motorhomes alike. Glamping has become a significant part of the offer, with heated pods and lodges that suit shoulder-season stays or anyone travelling without kit. Facilities include a heated toilet and shower block, laundry, a children's play area and a small shop, and dogs are permitted. Prices start from around fourteen pounds a night for a basic pitch outside peak season, rising sharply during the Festival in August, when advance booking is essential.
