About Edinburgh Festival Glamping
Heading to Edinburgh for festival season and looking for a great place to stay a little way away from the city’s crowds? Get a little way out of the centre to Edinburgh Festival Glamping, tucked away in the walled garden at the peaceful Merchiston Castle estate.
This gorgeous setting is an easy 10 minutes' drive from the city centre, with local bus services also making it easy to travel around. That means it’s a fine spot for those planning to take in events at Edinburgh’s summer festivals or just tour the sights of the city they call ‘Auld Reekie’.
Away from the busy city streets you’ll feel like you're living in a little secret garden here – and a peaceful one too, with no amplified music allowed during the quiet hours of 10pm to 7am. There’s 24-hour security to keep guests nice and safe, and there are other safety rules in place too (such as barbecues being kept to designated areas and smoking, vaping and open fires not being allowed within five metres of the tents).
Speaking of the tents, they're designed to make life nice and easy for guests – each of the five-metre bell tents sleeps up to four, with beds, bedding and pillows provided (just remember to bring your own towels…). The tents are lockable for extra peace of mind, and you can bring your own padlock or buy one at check-in.
Shared facilities include toilets, showers, wifi, car parking, a charging zone for your gadgets and a campfire area for chilled evenings of stoking the flames.

Great venue surrounded by nature, really chill vibes with the fire pit, lights on the trees and eating ‘court yard’ to hang out at night. Glamping tents really spacious too. Nice comfy beds which is a bonus when camping.
