The Grange occupies a Victorian villa set in its own grounds on high ground above Fort William, with views across Loch Linnhe from much of the house. It has built a reputation as one of the finest bed and breakfasts in the Highlands, run on a small, personal scale with a handful of individually furnished rooms.

Interiors mix antique furniture with period detail, and breakfast is served in a dining room looking out over the garden and loch, prepared using local and seasonal ingredients. The house does not take large groups, keeping the atmosphere closer to a private home than a commercial guest house.

Its elevated position gives some of the best views available from accommodation in Fort William, though the walk into the town centre is steeper and longer than from the lochside guest houses on Achintore Road, making a car useful for evening trips into town.
