Polruan Holidays
Cornwall
Small touring and camping site above Polruan, a ferry ride from Fowey
About Polruan Holidays
Polruan Holidays occupies a modest three-acre site at Townsend, on the hill above the fishing village of Polruan, directly across the estuary from Fowey. It is a small, well-regarded touring park rather than a large holiday complex, set within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and bordered by National Trust land, with views across the headland and out to sea from its upper fields.
The site is split into a top field for touring caravans, which is level and gives something of a garden feel, a centre field for motorhomes and campervans, and a lower field for tents, both of the latter gently sloping with sea views. Every pitch has electric hookup and adjacent parking, and a small children's play area with swings suits visiting families. Well-behaved dogs are welcome, up to two per pitch, and a handful of static caravans are also available to rent for those without their own outfit.
Polruan itself is a short walk downhill, with its own shops, pubs and boatyards, and the passenger ferry across to Fowey runs regularly throughout the day, making it entirely possible to leave the car at the pitch and explore both sides of the estuary on foot and by water. The South West Coast Path passes close by, giving direct access to some of the finest cliff walking on this part of the Cornish coast.
