Havener's sits directly on the Town Quay in Fowey, as close to the water as it is possible to be, and is run as one of St Austell Brewery's managed pubs with rooms rather than a standalone hotel. The building's position gives it an immediate, working-harbour atmosphere, with boats unloading catch within sight of the terrace tables.

The kitchen focuses on fresh fish and local meat, with a changing seasonal menu and a well-liked Sunday roast, served either inside or out on the quayside in good weather. A small number of bedrooms sit above the pub, some with river views, simply but comfortably furnished, with the emphasis firmly on the pub and its food rather than hotel-style extras.
