The Old Oaks Touring Park
Somerset
Adults-only five-star touring and glamping park 1.5 miles from the Tor
About The Old Oaks Touring Park
The Old Oaks sits on Wick Farm, a working smallholding just outside Glastonbury with a scenic 1.5 mile footpath leading straight into town. It is an adults-only park, and the absence of children brings a genuinely peaceful, unhurried atmosphere to the spacious grass and hardstanding pitches, many of which look out towards the wooded slopes below Glastonbury Tor.
Pitches suit tents, caravans, motorhomes and campervans, with metered electric hookup available and a choice of standard and larger super pitches. For those without their own kit, cedar lodges, shepherd's huts and glamping cabins offer a more comfortable alternative while keeping the same rural setting. The washrooms are kept to a high standard, and the small on-site shop stocks local produce and essentials, useful for those settling in for a longer stay rather than driving back into Glastonbury each evening.
A self-serve bar with a pool table and darts board, a fishing lake, and a network of farm walking trails give guests plenty to do without leaving the site, and dogs are welcome throughout. Takeaway food and drink deliveries are available for evenings when nobody fancies the walk into town, and the farm setting means chickens, sheep and the occasional alpaca are never far from view.
The combination of adults-only calm, genuine farm surroundings and easy walking access to the Abbey and high street makes this one of the more distinctive touring parks in the South West, and its consistently high guest reviews have earned it national award recognition in recent years. It is popular enough that booking ahead for spring and summer weekends, and especially for the solstice periods, is strongly worthwhile.
