The Red Lion Inn Caravan and Camping Park sits directly on the banks of the River Severn at Wainlode Hill, in the small village of Norton, only around four miles north of Gloucester city centre. Its position right on the riverbank makes it one of the closest touring sites to the cathedral city, and one of the few in the area where pitches look straight out over the water.
The park is open all year round and welcomes both tents and touring caravans, with the adjoining Red Lion pub providing an easy option for evening meals without needing to travel further. Pitches are set on level grass close to the water's edge, giving the site a genuinely rural, riverside feel despite its proximity to the city.
Dog owners are well catered for, with riverside walks starting directly from the site, and the short drive into Gloucester puts the cathedral, docks and Gloucester Quays within easy reach for day visits, making Wainlode a practical and scenic base for exploring the city without staying inside it.
