About Nicholaston Farm Campsite
Nicholaston Farm has been taking campers since the 1920s, which makes it one of the oldest continuously trading sites on the peninsula. It is still a working family farm, sitting on the slope above the eastern end of Oxwich Bay between Penmaen and Nicholaston, with fields that look out across the whole sweep of the bay towards Oxwich Point.
The site's biggest asset is its private path down through the woods and dunes to a quiet stretch of beach that day visitors rarely find, since the main Oxwich car park is a mile away at the other end. Three Cliffs Bay is walkable in the opposite direction along the coast path. Pitches suit tents, caravans, motorhomes and camper vans, with electric hookups available and a mix of terraced and level ground.
Facilities have been steadily improved and are better than the farm setting suggests: free modern shower rooms, free WiFi throughout, customer fridges and freezers, twenty-four-hour charging lockers for phones and devices, and a vanity suite. There is an on-site shop and takeaway cafe for breakfasts, coffee and evening food. Dogs are welcome on parts of the site. The season runs from early April to the end of October and the park has picked up a Lonely Planet listing and TripAdvisor recognition without losing its unfussy farm character. The lane down from the A4118 is narrow but short, the bus towards Port Eynon stops at the top, and the King Arthur at Reynoldston and the pubs at Parkmill are both a few minutes by car for an evening meal.
