About Three Cliffs Bay Holiday Park
Three Cliffs Bay Holiday Park occupies what is arguably the single best campsite position in Wales. The park sits on the headland at Penmaen, directly above the bay it is named after, and the front row of pitches looks straight down onto the limestone arch, the winding Pennard Pill and the ruined castle on the far side. A path from the site drops down through the dunes to the sand in about ten minutes.
The site is family-run and has been developed carefully over several decades. Touring pitches come with electric hookup, a picnic table, a drinking water tap and a fire pit, which is unusual and makes a real difference to summer evenings. There are luxury glamping tents sleeping up to five for anyone who wants the position without the packing, and the on-site Bistro 1948 serves breakfast through to early evening, so you do not have to cook if the weather turns.
Facilities are modern and well kept, with heated shower blocks, laundry and a shop for essentials. Dogs are welcome. Reception operates long hours in season. It is deservedly popular and books up further ahead than almost anywhere else on the peninsula — the park releases its diary a full year in advance and prime pitches go within days. If you want the view, plan early and be flexible on dates. The wider position is as good as the outlook. The Wales Coast Path runs along the cliff edge past the site, giving you Pennard, Southgate and Pobbles Bay in one direction and Penmaen Burrows and Oxwich in the other, all on foot. Parkmill village with its heritage centre and shop is a mile inland, and Swansea is around half an hour by car.
