The Wordsworth

Village centre, opposite the green · Hotel

A 19th-century former hunting lodge in the centre of Grasmere with a spa, riverside gardens and two on-site restaurants.

About The Wordsworth

The Wordsworth occupies a nineteenth-century building in the very centre of Grasmere, close to the green and a short walk from Dove Cottage and St Oswald's Church. Now part of the Inn Collection Group, the hotel has undergone a substantial refurbishment, blending its original architecture with a more contemporary interior across its bedrooms.

The hotel's two acres of riverside gardens back onto the River Rothay, and facilities include an indoor pool, hot tub and sauna. Food is served in two settings: William's Bar for more casual dining, and a separate restaurant for a fuller evening meal, both drawing on Cumbrian ingredients.

Its central position makes The Wordsworth one of the most convenient bases in Grasmere for those without a car, with the village shops, church and lakeside paths all within a few minutes on foot.
