Poston Mill Caravan and Camping Park

Herefordshire

Golden Valley touring park by the Dore, about twelve miles from Hereford

About Poston Mill Caravan and Camping Park

Poston Mill sits in the Golden Valley near Peterchurch, roughly twelve miles southwest of Hereford towards the Welsh border, on the site of a former corn mill beside the River Dore. The park's setting is one of the quietest in Herefordshire, ringed by hills and farmland rather than roads, and it draws visitors as much for the surrounding walking country as for the site itself.

The park offers a mix of level touring pitches, tent camping and a small number of static caravans and glamping pods, along with an on-site restaurant and bar in the old mill buildings, a shop for essentials and modern toilet and shower facilities. Its position in the Golden Valley makes it a good base for exploring Herefordshire's black-and-white villages, the churches of the Golden Valley, and the walking routes along Offa's Dyke and into the Black Mountains just across the Welsh border.

A short drive brings visitors back into Hereford for the cathedral and city sights, while Hay-on-Wye is easily reached in the other direction, making Poston Mill a workable base for a longer countryside stay rather than just a single overnight stop. The site is open through the main camping season and is popular with walkers and cyclists, so early booking is worth considering for summer weekends.
