Ty Cochyn is a small, adults-only campsite at Llanrhuddlad, around six miles north-east of Holyhead in the quiet farmland behind Anglesey's north-west coast. The adults-only policy, for guests aged twenty-one and over, sets the tone: this is a genuinely peaceful site aimed at couples and small groups rather than family holidays.
The site takes tents, touring caravans and motorhomes, with seasonal pitches available for those who want a regular base on Anglesey through the warmer months, plus over-winter storage for owners who leave a caravan on site between visits. Dogs are welcome on leads, or free to run in a dedicated dog field, which is a rare and useful extra for anyone travelling with a well-exercised dog.
The surrounding lanes are good for quiet cycling and walking, with the coastal path and the beaches around Church Bay and Cemaes both within easy reach by car. Holyhead itself, with its shops, station and ferry terminal, is around a fifteen-minute drive, making Ty Cochyn a workable base for exploring the whole of west Anglesey while returning each night to somewhere genuinely calm.
