About Runach Arainn
Runach Arainn, Gaelic for beloved or secret Arran, is a small glamping site set on a smallholding near Kilmory in the south of the island, close to Lagg Distillery and the sandy stretch of Torrlinn shore. Rather than pitches for tents or tourers, it offers three Scottish-made yurts, two sleeping up to six and a third sleeping up to four, each with its own bathroom and kitchen area.
Every yurt is supplied with bedding, towels and full self-catering equipment, along with a private fire pit and garden space set among a small orchard, giving guests somewhere to cook and sit outdoors on better evenings without needing to bring their own gear. Wifi covers the site, a practical touch given how remote this corner of Arran can feel, and the surrounding smallholding adds a working-farm character rarely found on standard campsites.
The site operates from February to November, making it one of the more shoulder-season-friendly options on the island for anyone wanting a camping-style trip without relying on settled tent weather. Its position in the quieter south west, within easy reach of Blackwaterfoot, Shiskine golf course and the Lagg Distillery visitor centre, suits couples and families looking for a slower, self-catering pace.
