About Balmeanach Park
Balmeanach Park is a small touring and camping park on a working croft near Fishnish, on Mull's east coast between Craignure and Salen, close to the short CalMac crossing to Lochaline. It is a quieter, more low-key alternative to the island's larger sites, set on sloping croft land with views out over the Sound of Mull towards Morvern and the mainland hills.
The park takes tents, touring caravans and motorhomes, with a limited number of electric hook-ups and space for a handful of pitches rather than a large-scale operation, reflecting its working-croft setting. Toilet and shower facilities are basic but clean, and the surrounding croft land is good for short walks, with sheep and Highland cattle grazing nearby and views across the water towards otters' favoured shoreline. Dogs are welcome, and the setting suits campers looking for a peaceful, unpolished base away from Tobermory's summer crowds.
Its position roughly midway up the island, close to both the Fishnish ferry slip and the main road to Tobermory, makes it a workable base for touring the whole of Mull, and it is popular with returning visitors who prefer a smaller, family-run site to the island's better-known campsites. As with much of rural Mull, it is worth calling ahead to confirm opening dates and pitch availability before setting off, particularly outside the main summer months.
