Shieling Holidays Mull

Argyll

Shorefront camping and glamping shielings minutes from the Craignure ferry

About Shieling Holidays Mull

Shieling Holidays occupies a shorefront peninsula just south of Craignure, looking out across the Sound of Mull towards Ben Nevis and the mainland hills. It is one of the most established campsites on the island, offering pitches for tents, campervans, caravans, trailer tents and roof-top tents alongside a small collection of self-catering cottages and distinctive canvas-roofed glamping shielings.

The site is only a few minutes' drive from the Craignure ferry terminal, making it a practical first or last stop for anyone touring the island by car, while Duart Castle and the Isle of Mull Railway are both within easy reach. Facilities include electric hook-ups, fresh water and chemical disposal points, coin-operated showers, and free use of drying tents year-round, useful given the island's changeable weather. Dogs are welcome throughout the site, and there are level, grassy pitches suited to families as well as quieter spots further along the shore.

Reception operates seasonal hours through the summer, with an emergency contact posted for arrivals outside these times, and pitches are pre-allocated by email ahead of arrival rather than assigned on a first-come basis. The combination of sheltered pitches, sea views and ferry-side convenience makes it a sensible base for a first visit to Mull, particularly for those splitting their stay between camping and day trips around the island.
