What visitors say
A small basic campsite offering value for money. Good: lovely quiet secluded pitch; Emma very friendly and helpful; close to shops and bus stop; able to freeze ice blocks. Not so good: toilet/shower block very shabby and not very clean, showers did not drain properly, toilet paper and soap dispensers not replenished; some noise from nearby road and airport (light aircraft); rats seen running about.

Weve just spent three fabulous days here in the beautiful isle of wight and have camped here at the old barn! Emma was amazing with the bookings and ferry crossings, and a great help with recommendations especially the fantastic off lead walk just off site! It was a godsend for our two dogs after a day tripping!. (seemed happy we were wet leg fans too !😎😉) We loved the site! Shower/toilets need a facelift but are all in perfectly good working order, and get a quality shower for 20p!!! An amazing spot super local to shops and beer gardens its literally a spot too good to be true! 👌👌👌👌👌

For the price you pay you can't grumble. The site was clean, the pitches are mostly flat, the staff are friendly and you save a ton on the ferry crossing making the stay for 3 nights almost free. The only thing stopping it from 5 stars are the showers. The shower heads are very blocked which means they dribble rather than spray. Apart from that, great. Thank you 👍

Although, on the plus, this site is well located. Is a very reasonable price and the (only ever saw one) staff member was very helpful. The pictures, I feel do not truly represent the site as it is now. It's quite dated. Especially the toilets and shower ( they are clean). The view is now obstructed as the hedgerows have been left to grow as with the general gardening and husbandry on the site. Quite a bit of road noise and planes. Lots of flies also on this site. Although we were told there is seasonal pitches. They very much look like they are properly lived in as areas have been fenced or roped off. Grass and weeds are growing tall around the caravans and quite untidy. Resembles a travellers site in some parts. These have been kept in the furthest parts of the site (but would make ideal pitches for genuine tourers) Quite unkempt No barrier at the entrance (a gate that remains open at all times. And when busy could be a little cramped. Believe new owners are in for next season so may well take on a new lease of life.
