The Border Hotel occupies a prominent position at the head of the village green in Kirk Yetholm, a small Cheviot Hills village around seven miles from Kelso and famous as the official northern end of the Pennine Way. The building dates from 1750, and its six rooms are simply but comfortably furnished with en-suite bathrooms, making it a natural stopping point for walkers finishing the long-distance path as well as visitors touring the Scottish Borders.

A restaurant serves a menu of pub classics and daily specials, and the bar, with its open fire and games, has a genuinely local, unhurried feel. A function room hosts weddings and private parties, and an EV charging point has recently been added for guests arriving by electric car.

Kirk Yetholm's setting on the edge of the Cheviots gives immediate access to the Halterburn valley and the surrounding hill paths, and the short drive into Kelso keeps Floors Castle, the Abbey and the town's shops and restaurants within easy reach for those using the Border Hotel as a quieter, more rural base.
