Branston Moor Campsite is a small, family-run site on a working farm at Poultry Farm, Moor Lane, in the village of Branston, around four miles south-east of Lincoln. Sheep and horses graze the surrounding fields, and on clear evenings the cathedral is visible in the distance across open farmland, a reminder of how close the city really is despite the rural setting. The site is known locally for its dark skies, with little light pollution to interrupt stargazing after dusk.
Pitches take tents, caravans and motorhomes, with both electric and non-electric options, and the farm has added a shepherd's hut and an upcycled trailer pod for visitors who prefer not to bring their own kit, both available on a minimum two-night booking. On-site facilities include toilets, showers and washing-up points, a campfire pit for those who want one, and fresh eggs from the farm's own hens sold most days. There is no shop, swimming pool or wifi, in keeping with the site's simple, back-to-basics character, but shops and pubs in Branston village are within about two miles.
Branston Moor is open from Easter through to October, with other dates available by arrangement, and welcomes dogs. Its combination of proper farm surroundings and a short drive into Lincoln makes it a good match for anyone wanting a quiet, unfussy campsite as a base for exploring the cathedral and castle without staying in the city itself.
