Hartsholme Country Park Campsite sits within the 200 acres of woodland, meadow and lake that make up Hartsholme Country Park, on the western edge of Lincoln itself, making it the closest genuine campsite to the city centre. The park was originally laid out as the grounds of a Victorian mansion and later given to the city, and the campsite occupies a quiet corner of it, with direct access to the park's network of paths around Hartsholme Lake and Swanholme Lakes without needing to get in a car.
The site is run by City of Lincoln Council and offers 32 touring pitches with electrical hook-up alongside two unfurnished camping pods with power and heating, aimed at those without their own tent or caravan. Shower and washing facilities are on site, along with a chemical disposal point, and dogs are welcome on leads. The park itself has a visitor centre, cafe and children's play area a short walk from the pitches, making it a practical choice for families as well as touring caravanners.
The campsite operates seasonally between 1 March and 31 October, with check-in from 1pm and non-returnable deposits required to secure a booking. Its position means Lincoln Central station and the cathedral quarter are around 25 to 30 minutes away on foot or a short bus ride, so it suits visitors who want a country park setting without giving up easy access to the city's main sights.
